Communications Designer

responsibilities include:

  • Assist with planning, strategizing and design of various internal and external communications deliverables in both traditional and new media to support corporate marketing, sales and reputation management initiatives

  • Design print materials (e.g., proposals, newsletters, brochures, displays, reports, ads, promo items, banners, construction site signage)

  • Design presentation graphics (e.g., tables, charts, photo compositions, infographics) and PowerPoint slide decks

  • Help organize and, if necessary, participate in Open Houses, Trade Show Booths, and Special Corporate Events/ Sponsorships

  • Support, as needed, other members of the Communications team in areas such as web-based content, presentation videos, and copy writing and editing

  • Identify vendors, obtain quotes and engage services for tasks to be outsourced

qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in PC environment, with Windows and MS Office literacy

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat; to a lesser degree in Premiere Pro, After Effects) – exceptional design/ layout skills in InDesign a must

  • Demonstrated ability to work with web development and design tools (i.e., CMS, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)

  • Excellent writing/ editing skills in English

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to execute multiple assignments within set timeframes

  • Ability to work responsibly within a team structure and resourcefully with minimal supervision

  • Other creative/ technical skills (photography, illustration, videography) a definite plus

education and experience:

  • Diploma or degree in marketing, communications, or graphic/ new media design preferred; alternatively, four years of practical design and production experience in marketing and/or editorial environment
