World class education & Research facility

Global Centre for human values, calgary, alberta

This 63,000 sq. ft. building was proposed as a campus-style facility in Calgary geared toward supporting research and education in human values and universal understanding.  The project features a variety of people-oriented spaces encompassing varied functions, including a great hall, a reception area, a meditation space, classrooms, circulation and gathering areas, communal breakout spaces, and acoustically-controlled study areas.

GCHV represents a design exercise that spanned close to a year, and from a pure design standpoint and despite not being built (at the decision of the client), is regarded as the most significant architectural project that Riddell Kurczaba has undertaken.
