RK recently completed a space study and subsequent interior tenant improvement project for Thurber Engineering in Edmonton, Alberta. Consisting of a 20,000 sq. ft. two-story office space, and a 21,000 sq. ft. lab and warehouse space, this tenant improvement project was achieved under a construction budget of $3.5M.

From a facility that had their entire operation spread out between several buildings, Thurber Engineering enlisted RK to complete a space study that would determine the best use of new space, and to create efficiencies within their operations. After conducting interviews and reviews of their current operations, RK delivered a sustainable and unique work space that included high humidity soil and curing rooms for testing different soil types (including concrete and asphalt). Labs were simultaneously designed to take advantage of exterior windows so that employees might benefit from enhanced visibility during their soil inspections, and to promote a healthier atmosphere for Thurber employees.
