Canada Post engaged Riddell Kurczaba to design a new delivery building that would meet regulated design standards as well as sustainable design requirements. Up to the challenge, our architectural team created this 45,000 sq. ft. letter carrier depot from a prototype initially considered for LEED® certification.

While our client ultimately decided to forego the certification process, they still chose to implement a number of sustainable components including, but not limited to, waterless urinals, recycled materials (i.e. crushed concrete fill for parking lot), natural finish materials, energy-efficient electrical lighting fixtures and mechanical units, all while maintaining a focus on the strategic use of daylighting.
